Happy New Year!!

Today is the very last day of 2009. This was a very rough year for many people. I am beyond thankful that we dodged the hardships many people out there experienced. Somehow, 2009 was actually one of our best and most memorable years yet. Here’s a recap of our 2009 (because I never want to forget it!), and here’s to a wonderful 2010. Happy New Year!

We traveled to Costa Rica

Went to a wedding in L.A. and a wedding in Oregon wine country

Had a 70s roller disco birthday party

Rode tandem bikes

Moved in together into a beautiful apartment in the Pearl District

Had a summer picnic lunch

Watched many beautiful sunsets & danced on our balcony

Spent a wonderful weekend in Sunriver, OR with our favorite couple

I baked my first cake

Infused some delicious vodka (which reminds me, we really need to do that again…)

Found our way through a corn maze and drank beer out of mason jars at Kruger’s Farm

We celebrated our two year anniversary

I traveled to Amsterdam for work….

….and Corey showed up and surprised me and PROPOSED!

Spent 2.5 weeks in South America

& much, much more!!

Looking forward to marrying my best friend in 2010 and making even more great memories with friends and family. Hope you all have a safe and festive night!

Cheers!

Inside-Out Champagne Glasses

Oh my goodness, I love these champagne glasses! I recently realized I am quite in love with stemless wine glasses, so these would really perfect a collection of stemless glassware.

SNOW DAY!

Today Portland got an unexpected snow day. To celebrate, Corey and I took a walk in the winter wonderland and then came back to our apartment, made hot cocoa and sat on our balcony and watched the snowflakes fall. It was a really good day.

Christmas Festivities

Here are some photos from our Holiday weekend. We spent lots of time with our families eating delicious food, drinking lots of wine and playing fun games (have you ever played Bananagrams? I highly recommend it.)! How was your weekend?

{Wedding Inspiration}

{all images via it's mary ruffle}

We haven't decided our wedding colors  yet so I've been doing some exploring and found a bunch of images that inspire me and how I envision our wedding day. I'm loving the idea of wildflowers in ceramic pitchers and vintage jars and vases. I ultimately would like the tables to look put together but not too contrived.

Wedding Shoes

I can't get over these gorgeous Louboutins. They are the perfect wedding shoes. Unfortunately for me, they're a bit out of the budget, not to mention our ceremony will take place on grass so high heels probably aren't the best idea. I'll be on the hunt from some equally beautiful (and much less expensive) wedges or flats for our big day!

Happy Birthday to my Bestie!

Today is my Bestie's 24th birthday! We've been friends for a decade now. That sounds insane and makes me feel kinda old. I love her like a sister and am so excited to be celebrating another birthday with her. Happy, happy birthday Bestie!! You deserve the best day ever, hope you're enjoying it :)

Our First Day in Buenos Aires!

Here are some photos from our first day out and about in Argentina. We ate a swanky 3-course lunch and drank some white wine, then, slightly tipsy, we walked across the way to the Recoleta Cemetery. I wasn't ready for how incredible, awe-inspiring and mysterious the Cemetery was. If you're ever in Buenos Aires, don't miss it.

Then we walked through the Recoleta Artisan's Market. Vendors line the narrow sidewalks near the Cemetery and sell random knick-knacks like scarves, jewelry, art and lots more. We didn't buy anything (holding out for the San Telmo Antiques Fair) but had fun looking! We took the last photo at the end of Avenida 9 de Julio, a street that spans an entire city block. It's enormous!

Christmas Tree

{The Jamison Square Christmas Tree}

Last night I was finally feeling better and I had a case of the giggles for no good reason. Even though we didn’t do anything extravagant, it turned out to be a really fun night. I made some cookie dough (but didn’t get as far as the cookies…), and Corey and I took a walk around our neighborhood to finally admire and take in all the beautiful Christmas lights up right now. The air was so crisp, fresh and chilly. It smelled like winter.

 We walked down to the Christmas tree in Jamison Square and thought about last year, when that very same park and tree were covered in a foot of snow. It was a Sunday night and we walked from Corey’s apartment in NW Portland down to our now-neighborhood, the Pearl District. The streets were deserted and stark white, and the quiet and calm was almost eerie. There wasn’t a soul around but the two of us. Although the Christmas tree is still beautiful, I don’t think it’s beauty will ever compare to the way it looked that night when it was just me, Corey and lots and lots of snow.

Welcome Winter

Some beautiful photos in honor of the first day of winter. Hope you stay warm and cozy this long, dark night.

BC Ankle Boots

Dear Santa,
I'd like to add these to my Christmas wish list.
Thank you!

Engagement Party!

The weekend between getting back from Amsterdam and leaving for South America, we somehow managed to fit in a spectacular engagement party. And by somehow, I mean there's no way we could have done it without the help of our superwoman mothers. Everything turned out perfectly. It was a casual midday celebration filled with mimosas and crazy amounts of delicious food. It was perfect.
