Blog Crush: Atlantic-Pacific

Currently loving this gorgeous fashion blog. Do you know it? Am I totally late to the party?

Weekend Recap

A little more long form than usual... Just because I felt like it :)

Friday we took Henry to happy hour at the Sniff Dog Hotel, as planned. We were definitely not the only ones with this idea as the place was packed. Even so, I have to say, this was SO much fun. My cheeks hurt when I left from smiling so much. There is just something so fun about watching all these dogs run around and play. Afterward, we went to Bridgeport Brewery with my sis for dinner and some yummy beer.

Saturday I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and we cuddled in bed with Henry for a good portion of the morning. Then I got a great (and cheap!) facial at the Aveda Institute in the Pearl. If you’re in Portland, I highly recommend going here. It wasn’t my first time and it won’t be my last. Saturday night we went out for a late dinner at Siam Society on NE Alberta. We wanted to try out a different neighborhood for a change. I am pretty particular about my Thai food and this place just didn’t hit the spot for me. The service was great, we thoroughly enjoyed their homemade ginger ale with bourbon, but the restaurant was freezing, and anyone who knows me knows I hate being cold!

Sunday I made some turkey bacon, cheesy scrambled eggs topped with avocado and toast for breakfast. I surprised Corey with the ESPN 30 for 30 DVD box set a couple weeks ago and we watched one of the documentaries, and even though it was about sports I still thoroughly enjoyed it! Sunday we also got a chance to Skype with our new niece, Emma. She is seriously the sweetest little baby ever and just looking at her I couldn’t stop smiling! We are so sad we are all the way here in Portland, but are looking forward to meeting her in April. Sunday night we went to the Blazer game with some colleagues who are in town from our European headquarters and we got to sit courtside. It was a pretty amazing experience even though we played horribly!

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend that flew by far too quickly! How was your weekend? What did you do? I’d love to know!

And because no post is complete without a photo... My very tired little Henry. He fell asleep like this during our Skype call!

Fill in the Blank Friday!

Playing along with Lauren again this Friday! Fill in the blanks and then link up on her blog. Happy weekend all!

1.   I am currently obsessed with    my puppy, Henry. I literally can’t get enough of his adorable little face. And I think everything he does is the cutest thing ever. If I’m like this with a puppy I can’t even imagine what I will be like with babies. Watch out.

2.  Today I am    happy because  it’s Friday and it’s sunny! Tonight we are taking Henry to the Sniff Dog Hotel for happy hour. This place is genius. They have a café for the pet owners where we can sip on some wine and snacks while we watch our dog frolic with other pups in their 2,000 sq. ft. indoor dog park. And it’s free!

3.  The age I am is    24    and the age I feel is    I kinda feel older than my age because I am married to an older man (haha! love you babe!) and I’m the youngest person on my team at work. Sometimes I want to fast-forward and grow up and buy a house and have kiddos and all that, but then I realize I have my whole life to do that and I should just sit back and enjoy this time (and freedom)!

4.  My favorite place is     being at home with Corey and Henry. It’s just so comfortable and cozy and happy. I love traveling, but there’s no place like home.

5.  Something I have been procrastinating is     updating my passport to my new last name and also my social security card. Whoops. Should probably get on that before Mexico in May and taxes. Yikes!

6.  The last thing I purchased was        probably food. I spend way too much money on food!!

7.  The thing I love most about my home is       it’s a reflection of who I am, and I share it with the most wonderful little family! It’s the perfect size for us and is so beautiful and cozy. I love our apartment!

And The Winner Is...

Ashlee from Where My Heart Resides! Congrats! I'll be emailing you shortly.

Weekend Recap

This weekend we...

Enjoyed the gorgeous sunshine with a walk along the waterfront with Corey’s parents.

Grabbed happy hour at Café Nell. Such a cute little spot in NW.

Went out for a healthy but amazingly delicious dinner at Blossoming Lotus (complete with fancy cocktails).

Became Aunt Liz and Uncle Corey! My brother-in-law and his wife had their baby girl three weeks early!

Had an amazing family dinner Sunday night. I always feel so blessed that Corey’s family and my family get along so well.

Doted on our handsome Henry. I will never get sick of his cute little face! What I will get sick of is his ridiculously loud snoring! We let him sleep in bed with us for part of Friday night in hopes that he wouldn’t wake us up at the crack of dawn on Saturday. Instead, he just snored reallyyyy loud the whole night and kept us up! Oh, but we love that little stinker!

My Camera & Lens

I've had quite a few questions recently about what camera I use, so thought I'd answer everyone with one post. I use a Canon Rebel T1i with 50mm 1.4 lens. I'm no expert, but these two work amazingly for me and I love them! I barely ever use the stock lens that came with the camera (18-55mm) as I am quite addicted to the amazing quality my 50mm gets me. The 50mm 1.8 is a cheaper alternative that I've heard is also great for beginners.  Leave a comment below if you have any other questions. And don't forget I also have a Formspring account if you want to ask me something over there!

Fill in the Blank Friday!

Another round of Fill in the Blank Friday with Lauren from The Little Things We Do. Enjoy! And don't forget to enter the awesome giveaway below :)

1.   I am    really looking forward to seeing some sun this weekend. It’s a wonder I love Portland as much as I do with all the grey and rain… I live for the sun and feel so alive and happy when it comes out!

2.  The bravest thing I've ever done was   go on a blind date with a handsome guy named Corey. I am actually really shy when it comes to meeting people and a blind date was my idea of torture, but I’m so glad I did it! Three years later we’re happily married :)

3.  I feel prettiest when   my husband looks at me and smiles and tells me that I look beautiful. He is so genuine when he says it that I can’t help but believe him, even when I am truly doubting it!!

4.  Something that keeps me awake at night is   Oh man… I’ve just lately been getting better at not laying awake thinking. But when I do I think about everything from things I need to get done to daydreaming about the future to thinking about what I want to do that weekend or make for dinner the next day or pretty much anything and everything!

5.  My favorite meal in the entire world is   probably panang curry or pizza. I could switch off those two meals every day and never get tired of them! I would also probably be about 200 pounds heavier  :)

6.  The way to my heart is   affection and attention.

7.  I would like to   move to Amsterdam with Corey and Henry and spend a couple years exploring every square inch of Europe.

Weekend Snaps

On Saturday morning it was somewhat warm and not rainy, so we took advantage of the weather and walked down to Saint Honore Boulangerie for a couple cappuccinos and a bite to eat. We sat outside with our little man, and it made us really excited for summer when it doesn't get dark at 5, and we can do this every day with Henry!

When we got home, we cleaned the heck out of our apartment (exciting!), and then plopped down on the couch and relaxed. It was heavenly.

Sunday morning, Corey sweetly surprised me with an absolutely gorgeous bouquet of flowers. When you live together, carpool together and work in the same building, it can be hard to surprise one another, so I was super impressed!

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday, friends! How was your weekend? I was so happy we actually saw some nice weather Saturday morning. I was able to break out my camera, which I haven’t done in forever it feels like! It’s so hard to keep up with my photography in the winter since by the time I get home it is pitch dark. Having said that, I haven’t had a chance to upload the photos, so here are a couple iPhone pics from our weekend to hold you over!
