To Amsterdam I Go...

Vaarwel, vrienden (that means "goodbye, friends" in Dutch according to a sketchy online translator). As I type, it is midnight, and there is still packing to be done, but I simply must go to bed. I will be up bright and early to shove the last of my belongings into my bags, kiss my sweetie a tearful goodbye and get on a plane headed for The Netherlands. Wish me safe travels and I can't wait to share all my upcoming adventures! Have a fabulous weekend!

Colorful Tights

I'm rockin' red tights today, and I must say, I feel sassy! I've decided I want tights in every hue. I love the unconventional color pairings from the photoshoot below. I feel like they would all make cute holiday outfits. Would you wear a pair of colorful tights?

Love

I'm in a really lovey mood tonight. I mean, I'm always in a lovey mood... But tonight especially because I can't stop thinking about how much I'm going to miss Corey when I'm in Europe. It's silly, really. I know 2 weeks isn't that long. But he is my soul mate, my best friend, and my rock. And I just hate thinking about living my life without him, even for just 14 days.

So, as I sit here thinking about love and how wonderfully powerful it is, here are some lovely pictures to end your Thursday. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Help Me Find Some Books, Please!

Sorry for the lack of posts this week. As you can imagine I have been busy, busy tying up loose ends before I leave for Amsterdam Saturday. Speaking of, I would love some great book suggestions. Tell me what books you've read that you just could not put down. I have some long flights I need to fill! Thanks in advance!

Mushy Brain

{via we heart it, via Naturally Nina}
Do you ever feel like you've worked so hard your brain might explode? That's how I feel today after a long and busy day. I've got my work cut out for me preparing for my rendezvous across the pond! But through it all I am staying positive as I realize this is an awesome opportunity. So instead of complaining, I'll just say this: I'm really, really excited to go to bed tonight!

Me + Amsterdam

I have a feeling I'm going to feel right at home in Amsterdam... On the left,  the forecast for Portland. On the right, the forecast for Amsterdam... Hmm. They look very similar, no?

Weekend Recap

Is it seriously already Monday? My goodness, the weekend flew! Hope you had a relaxing and fun two days.

Friday night Corey and I had a fancy dinner at Fenouil, a super-romantic French restaurant in our neighborhood. The food was unbelievably delicious and the ambiance was perfect. To end the night we had margaritas (the same ones we had almost two years before to the day) at our first-date spot, Oba. We were on cloud 9 :)

Saturday we headed out to the coast to be pleasantly surprised with insanely gorgeous weather. The sun was shining with hardly a cloud in the sky. If you're an Oregonian, you know how rare that is in October (or anytime...), so we were extremely happy! We walked, talked, had a beach fire and made s'mores and overall just truly enjoyed our relaxing day together. Even though it was our backup plan, and I'm going to miss him terribly on our real anniversary while I'm in Europe, this was a magical weekend. Hope yours was too!

My Big News!

{credit}
So, I've waited over a week, and I think that's long enough. My big news is...

I'm being sent to Amsterdam for two weeks for work! I'm leaving Saturday and I'm so excited and very overwhelmed all at the same time. I've never been to Amsterdam so I'm looking forward to exploring the city. I'll also be in Belgium for a couple of days (also for work). I'm always up for discovering new places! Please send me any suggestions on things to do and see and places to eat!

The craziest part of this whole extravaganza is that 10 days after I get back, Corey and I will be flying away to South America for 2 and a half weeks! I will be on three different continents in the month of November. Insanity-- but all great!

I plan on blogging my way through all of my travels, so please stick around while I document my journeys :)

Happy Weekend!

{Arch Cape this summer}

Another exhausting work week has come and gone. The weekend is finally here. Do you have any plans?

Corey and I are celebrating our two-year anniversary a little early (due to my big news, that I have yet to share, we had to postpone this, but more on that Monday!). Tonight we're reliving our first date with happy hour at Oba, our yearly tradition. Tomorrow we're driving to the coast where we'll stay in a romantic little room in Arch Cape, a quiet beach town my bestie and her man introduced us to and we've fallen in love with. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Bubble Bath Bliss

Bubble baths are hands down one of my favorite things in this life. Today I'm daydreaming about relaxing in one of these gorgeous bathrooms. Someday I hope to have a big, beautiful soaker tub in my master bath. Until then, I'll just dream...

Wool Mittens

As the weather gets colder I'm eager to start wearing mittens, scarves and hats. They're so cozy and adorable. I am loving these orange mittens. A little color to brighten up those grey winter days wouldn't hurt! I found them here.

Pamukkale

Pamukkale, Turkey is a new discovery to me. Literally translated, it means "cotton castle" and from far away it looks like snow-capped mountains, but they're actually limestone and travertine salt formations caused by tectonic movements. Below are pictures of the hot springs. Simply incredible.

Home Inspiration

I'm feeling inspired by the contrast between the earthy table and white-washed walls and pops of color in this space. It's a former school made into a home. And I'd gladly move in today!Link{via emmas design blog}

Wednesday Night

When I got home tonight, Corey had Hot Lips pizza, a bottle of red wine and a red velvet cupcake ready for me to devour. He knows exactly how to brighten up my tough days. And while the food and vino was perfect, nothing made me happier than a big hug and a smooch from him.

Wednesday

Today is just one of those days where it feels like everything is going wrong. I could list it all here, but that would mean I was wallowing in my bad day, and I'm trying really hard to look past the frustration and turn this around. Do you believe you can turn a bad day around with a dose of positivity?

Pretty Please

Just a few shoes on my current wish list:

Beltane Ranch + Kate Harrison Photography

I've fallen in love with Kate Harrison's photography. Her photos are so genuine and full of light. I especially adore the following photos as I have absolutely fallen in love with Beltane Ranch in Sonoma. It might be the most captivating venue I've ever seen!
