If you were wondering, my massage and facial today were absolutely wonderful... They were uplifting, soothing and exactly what I needed this weekend. The facial was even better than my massage. It was my first time, and I truly feel fresh-faced and my skin feels renewed. I am vowing to get these done more often. They are totally worth it. If any of you Portlanders are reading, I highly recommend the gals at Spa Willamina. The spa is tucked inside a cute bungalow on the East side. It is adorable, the staff is amazing and the treatments are, well... a treat. Take care of yourselves and go there now!

I can't believe I made it! I can't believe it's Friday! What are you all up to this weekend? I am so exhausted from a long, busy work week, I am planning on doing a whole lot of relaxing, including a wonderful massage and (my first ever) facial.

It's utterly shocking it's already Thursday. Things at work have been crazy busy... Pretty much every day I feel like my brain might explode. It's times like these I wish I could take just a quick break from doing something creative all day and do something mindless... Like data entry, perhaps? Everything in moderation, right? Hopefully I can keep the creative juices flowing for the two remaining days this week. I have a much-needed massage and facial lined up for Saturday, which should freshen me right up. For now, I'm daydreaming of escaping to this cozy hammock...

Jill Thomas + Amorology = Perfection

Our photographer, Jill Thomas, and San Diego-based wedding coordination/styling company Amorology teamed up and put together this amazingly gorgeous first year anniversary shoot. It took place in an orange grove and included tons of vintage-inspired goodness. I loved everything about this shoot, the props, the hair, the wardrobe... Simply stunning! Jill did such an awesome job capturing the essence of this shoot and I am so proud that she is our photographer! I absolutely can't wait for her to photograph our wedding in August!

Lovejoy Bakers

Weekends are for sleeping in, relaxing and all-in-all just enjoying good food and good company (those are the elements I need for a fantastic weekend, anyway). Corey and did all of the above this morning when we met our friends Jenna (one of my beautiful bridesmaids!) and her boyfriend, Zach, at the new cafe in our neighborhood, Lovejoy Bakers. It opened a couple of months ago and Corey and I became instant fans. Any place that posts the quote "Good bread is the most fundamentally satisfying of all foods; and good bread with butter the greatest of feasts" is a winner in my book!

Lovejoy Bakers sits on the busy corner of 10th & Lovejoy in the Pearl District. The space is open and full of bright, natural light. My usual order is the Egg & Fontina sandwich, which is served on one of their house-made ciabatta rolls. Oh. My. Gosh. It is sooo delicious. Probably the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Simple, but the ingredients are so fresh it makes all the difference. That coupled with a giant cappuccino (complete with cute leaf picture drawn in the foam) and you've got yourself a perfect Sunday morning spot to read the paper, peruse the net (free wi-fi!) and/or sit and chat with friends.

Today I'm feeling nostalgic for Amsterdam. Maybe it's because Corey surprised me and proposed there... Maybe it was the cobblestone streets... Or maybe it was the entrancing, romantic canals... But whatever it is my heart is yearning for it today. I want to go back!
