Comfort Food

Husband has been feeling sick this week, so I thought I'd be a good wifey and cook him up some comfort food. I made this soup. We both agreed it didn't knock our socks off. Maybe a little too much potato or something. But the grilled cheese... Oh, the grilled cheese. It was a bit gourmet and a lot delicious. Pugliese bread, pesto spread and sharp white cheddar. Pop it onto the panini grill and hello yum! I highly recommend you try this at home.

Office Space

I really want to spruce up my desk at work. It's just sort of blah and corporate and uninspiring. I spend the majority of every day in the office, so I figure investing in a little decor would be in my best interest. I'm loving these spaces and planning on picking up a few design ideas from them.

More Henry Love

It's Raining, It's Pouring...

Well, to no surprise, it didn't snow yesterday. We had a ridiculously light dusting. Pathetic! And now the rain has set in. Oh the joys of a Portland winter... I think this adorable umbrella would make the rain just a tiny bit more bearable.

Let It Snow...

We're expecting (a tiny bit of) snow in Portland today. Who knows if it will actually happen, but I am crossing my fingers really hard it does. I love, love, love snow! Even if my snowy daydreams don't come true today, we  have a weekend trip to Mt. Hood planned in a couple weeks, so I can get my snow fix in then!

Weekend Recap + Henry Overload

I had one of the most uneventful weekends ever. At the end of last week I started feeling a cold coming on. Thankfully, things were so busy last week I worked through the symptoms, but come Friday evening it all came crashing down. So, I spent pretty much the entire weekend in bed. No, seriously. I only went outside twice to take the dog out for, like, five minutes max. I'm just hoping I rested enough to be able to take on this week. It's a big one... And a very busy one. Wish me luck!


And so you don't hate me and think I'm the worst blogger ever, here are just a few (ha!) iPhone photos of our beloved Henry. We are completely and utterly obsessed. Sometimes I dream about being a stay at home mama for our furbaby... And then he tries to chew everything in sight and bites my face and pees in the house :) Ah, the joys of puppy parenthood!

Back to Reality...

I can't believe 2011 is here. And that vacation time has ended. No more sleeping in until 10 (thank goodness for an amazing husband who wakes up early to take the pup out), staying in my PJs watching trashy TV all day, puppy naps and snores on my lap. No more four mile walks on a perfect winter day. No more brunch with friends. Sigh. It was a lovely 12 days, but now it's back to work. And while I'll try my hardest not to, I'll probably be daydreaming of being at home with my boys all day.
