This weekend, for my birthday, Corey took me to the Willamette Valley for some wine tasting, good food and delicious treats. We stayed at the Lions Gate Inn, the bed and breakfast we were supposed to stay at for our two-year anniversary (until I got sent to Amsterdam). We both talked about definitely wanting to reschedule and go someday, and I have to say that the Inn was most definitely worth the wait. It was adorably quaint, yet had the luxurious modern amenities we all love. Our room had an absolutely gorgeous double-sided fireplace, a massive soaking tub and the sweetest porch that exuded an almost Southern charm.
On Saturday, we took our time sleeping in and making it out to the Inn. Upon arrival, we had a picnic on the porch, then had a couple insanely good cupcakes at The Sweetest Thing in downtown Newberg, followed by dinner at the Dundee Bistro (their truffle fries were to.die.for.) Sunday we went wine tasting at two new-to-us wineries: Bergstrom and Trisaetum. The views and the pinots didn't disappoint! We were so happy the rain held out and it was even nice enough to do our tastings outside. All-in-all it was an absolutely perfect birthday weekend!! Here are more pictures than you probably care to see! :)
