The Big Bang Debate

No, not the Big Bang Theory... The "I want bangs, but can't decide if they are worth the hassle" debate.

So, for those of you who are relatively new to the 'ol blog, let me refresh your memory. I thought about getting bangs for a long time before the wedding. But considering I wasn't willing to take any major hair risks at any point before our big day, I waited until after our wedding. I did it. I loved them. For two days.

You see, they were in my eyes. Like, I couldn't really open my eyes and they would constantly water and I would feel really dumb winking at people I didn't know all that well through entire conversations. So I got fed up and quickly grew them out. Now, I have a hair appointment next Friday and I'm sort of thinking I didn't give them enough of a chance, and I'm sort of itching to get them again.

Please, please help me. Should I give bangs another try? Or keep my hair as it is? I need your help!

Thinking to do them a tad thicker and a tad shorter this time. I love these bangs:

Oh, Hello...

You guys, this week has been crazy so far. We have a super sick pup on our hands, which = no sleep, major exhaustion, and on top of it all, work is nuts. I've been coming home every night, eating dinner and pretty much falling into bed. I hope I survive the rest of the week.

I wish I could say we can relax this weekend, but we've got three birthday shindigs. Pray I get some energy back so I can celebrate with the best of 'em! Hope you're all having a great week. Hope to be back to regular posting soon...

Weekend Recap

Friday:
Martinis with the girls followed by pool and beers with some good friends who were in town from Seattle.

Saturday:
Major laziness. Sex & The City marathon. Hey, I deserved it!
Made kale chips for the first time at the suggestion of my sissy and this little lady. Yum. Try it!
Whipped up stuffed portabello mushrooms (recipe here, just added a cup of quinoa), grilled chicken and garlic bread.
Watched The Fighter. Acting was insanely phenomenal. Great movie, but I had to hide my eyes a few times.

Sunday:
Strawberry shortcake for breakfast (including homemade whipped cream!). Uh huh. That's how we roll!
Spring cleaning.
Tried the PB&J cart down the street. Probably shouldn't have done that because we discovered how ridiculously yummy they are. Corey had the "Good Morning" and I had the "Pumpkin Pie". Grilled PB&J concoctions. Who woulda thought?
Going away dinner for a coworker who's moving to Amsterdam to work at our European headquarters. Will miss her. Tried to hide my jealousy :)

Hope you had a great weekend!

Fill in the Blank Friday!

Playing along with Lauren over at The Little Things We Do! Fill in the blanks and link up with her on her blog. Trust me, it's fun!

My most prized possession is       does our puppy, Henry, count? If not, I would say my engagement ring. It’s the most valuable thing I own and Corey had it custom made and it means so much to me. I never, ever take it off and I feel so proud to wear it!

2.  If I could be one age for the rest of my life, I would want to be
I don’t know that I’ve experienced an age that I would want to be the rest of my life. Each year is such an amazing journey and learning experience that I haven’t looked back yet, I’m just looking forward. An age I think will be awesome would be 28 or 29… Even though I haven’t reached that age yet, in my mind, I feel like at that point Corey and I will probably own a home, be even more established in our relationship and our marriage, will hopefully either have a bebe on the way or already have one and will be further in our careers… Those are things I daydream of for our future, but for now we are just loving life as it is and feeling extremely blessed!

3.  The best way to spend a weekend is   with my hubby, family, friends and Henry. Just add in some sunshine, good food and fun cocktails and that is sheer bliss.

4.  My outlook on life is    you create your happiness. If you are unhappy in your life, relationship, job, etc, do something about it. Sure it may be easier said than done, but you’re either exerting energy being miserable and complaining all the time or you're putting that energy into doing something to get yourself out of whatever’s got you down. I’m not saying I’m always happy and in a good mood, but even when I am grouchy I try my best to realize that I can turn my day, week, life around.

5.  If you want to annoy me, just     go 30 miles an hour getting on the freeway. People in Portland don’t know how to merge and it drives me CRAZY!

6.  I am completely defenseless when it comes to   cheese… or puppies. HAHA

7.  When dressing for the day one should    put something on that makes them feel confident and comfortable (well, I sacrifice comfort in the name of fashion sometimes, but I think it’s worth it). Also, something that represents you and your style, not trying to mimic something that just doesn’t suit you. And whatever you wear.. OWN IT!

Weekend Snaps

This past weekend, which seems ages ago now, my sister was in town from LA. She hadn't come back to Portland since our wedding in August, so she was eager to see our new place and our new pup. She fell in love with Henry instantly (I mean, who wouldn't, right? hehe). We spent the weekend going out to eat a lot (Serrato, Kenny & Zukes Sandwichworks, Vivace--all which I recommend!) and just catching up. It was super nice to have her and her husband around, and I was extremely sad to see them go. Here are a couple photos from the weekend.

This is my version of an outfit post.. Me taking a dorky picture of myself in the mirror... I felt really dumb doing it, but I've had a couple requests for more outfit photos on here, so let me know what you think and if you'd like to see more :) And if you don't and think I look dumb.. Just keep that to yourself! haha
{J Brand Jeans, Nike 6.0 Pocket Tank, F21 faux leather jacket (borrowed from my sis), Sam Edelman Boots}

No explanation necessary for the next couple :)

Saturday morning it was beautiful. We walked up to Vivace for crepes and cappucinos and even sat outside!

Then we headed over to Wallace Park for a Frenchie meetup! It was SO muddy. I got covered in mud. Henry was covered in slobber and mud. He had a lot of fun, as you can imagine. We'll definitely take him back!

Had to stop for a kiss. They're in love.

Sick in Bed

Work has been crazy these last two days (working on my first big photo shoot) and now I've come down with something, so I'm at home, sick in bed. The only bright side is that my little pup is with me. The only thing that would make me feel even better is the hubby being home to take care of me.

Weekend photos coming someday...

Happy Monday!

This weekend, I fell in love with these custom iPhone cases...

...And did many other wonderful things. So many that I am utterly exhausted and haven't had a chance to upload photos. Will share tomorrow, promise! Hope you had a great weekend!

For Japan, With Love.

The devastation in Japan has paralyzed many of us and often times left us feeling hopeless and helpless. I know it has been hard for me to keep my eyes off the news and stop reading about the misery the people of Japan are enduring. Luckily, many people around the world are coming together to aid the country and help them rebuild and get through this horrific disaster. There is so much to be done. It will take weeks, months, even years to return to a sense of normalcy, but everyone should do their small part to help. Every dollar counts, so donate what you can (even if it’s not a lot) and join the blogging community tomorrow for a day of silence in remembrance of those lost and those still trying to get through this trying time.

Endless thanks to Lydia from Ever Ours and Lucia from Uterly Engaged for putting this together. Learn more about their efforts here.

{Beach} Weekend Recap

Better late than never... Ready for photo overload? Last weekend we ventured down to Bella Beach with our friends Meghan and Jeff (and Henry of course). We'd never been to this particular beach, but we absolutely fell in love. This place is the cutest little community of beach cottages. I like to call it Pleasantville, because it just looks picture perfect!

We spent the weekend playing games, chatting, laughing and throwing back a couple brewskies (or margs or wine or whatever...). Oh! I almost forgot to mention it was sunny. Oregon Coast in March, sunny? Yes, yes it's true. It was truly blissful!! It was an absolute blast! We can't wait to go back.
