Summer is Here!

Thanks so much for all your encouraging words yesterday. Today has been much better. This morning was absolutely gorgeous in Portland. The air was so fresh and invigorating. It smelled like summer. I just love the way each season has its own distinct scent! Hope it's beautiful and summery where you are!

SoHo House

It’s a shame (for me) that the SoHo House in West Hollywood is for members only. The garden restaurant looks absolutely stunning… They lifted the olive trees through the roof with a crane! It’s not every day you can experience that kind of beauty 14 floors above ground. And don't even get me started on those wooden lanterns-- I'm obsessed!!

Breathe & Smile

I hate to be a downer, but this morning has been really crummy. Every little thing was going wrong (major allergy attack, left my makeup bag in the car that was  21 floors below in the garage, my tinted lotion exploded all over my makeup bag, etc etc). And then I got rear-ended when I was not two miles away from work!

Ugh.

I wish I could take a personal day and just lay in bed and watch bad TV. But since I can't, I am going to stop sulking now. I'm taking a deep breath.

The rest of this day is going to be much better. I just know it. (And I'll keep saying it until it's true!)

Weekend Snaps

Happy Monday! Well, as happy as Mondays are concerned, anyway. Hope everyone had a great weekend! It was hot and sunny in Portland. A welcome change from all the rain we've been having. I'm so glad summer is finally here!

Here are some photos from the last couple of days. The Denfeld family threw me a bridal shower (so amazing!), we walked a ton, rode the Portland Aerial Tram for the first time ever, and lots more!

Outdoor Bliss

The sun is finally shining in Portland. I've never been happier to get up and start my day than when I peel my eyes open and spy bright blue sky and beautiful morning light. I wish I was spending my day lounging in one of these gorgeous outdoor spaces...

Inspiration Shoot by Sara Gray Photography

I couldn’t resist sharing this super fun and beautiful inspiration shoot done by local Portland photographer, Sara Gray. I’ve always loved the idea of a swanky, feminine brunch celebration (who doesn’t love brunch?!), and Sara and her team of vendors did a great job bringing the idea of a brunch wedding reception to life.

Check out more of Sara's shoot here and here!

Be Happy.

Don't forget to ask yourself this question. And remember you have the power to change the answer. You are in control of your happiness! If you don't watch out for it, who will?

Primele Custom Calligraphy Stamp

I’ve become quite obsessed with the idea of flaunting my new last name (and new initials!) in just a little over a month (AH!).  I’ve decided I need one of these gorgeous custom calligraphy stamps so anytime I send anything in the mail (which will be more often if I get this stamp), everyone will know I’m a Denfeld. I couldn’t be prouder.

These exotic suits scream honeymoon in French Polynesia, don't you think?

Weekend Snaps

Good day! Hope everyone had a nice and relaxing weekend. We ended up trading in our date night for Thai take out on Friday. We realized we were super exhausted and weren't feeling up for a night out. We did end up getting breakfast at Everett Street Bistro, which was delicious as usual, and spent the rest of the weekend cooking, baking, relaxing and wedding planning. We managed to cram a lot into two days! Here are some photos I took over the weekend. Hope you enjoy!

Have a Great Weekend!

Another week has flown by. Sorry for the slow posting this week. I've been super overwhelmed between work and the wedding. Hopefully next week will be a little slower...

What are you up to this weekend? Tonight Corey and I are going on a wedding-budget-friendly date night. We're using our Groupon to Everett Street Bistro (A European-Style Charcuterie down the street from us), then catching a $3 showing of Date Night at the Mission Theater (where we can watch the movie and share a pitcher of yummy raspberry beer). The rest of the weekend will be spent... drumroll... running wedding errands and doing wedding crafts of sorts. I know, shocking, right? It's all about the wedding these days!

Hope you're able to enjoy some relaxation!

Braided Bead Necklace

Check out the instructions for this lovely DIY necklace here. It's too simple and beautiful not to try!

P.S. Yes, it's driving me a little nutty that "scissors" is spelled wrong! Ah, the editor in me never sleeps!

Elizabeth Lyons Glass

Aren't these blown-glass jars funky and fabulous? They would make for a picturesque (and very expensive) tablescape.

Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday everyone! This week has been absolutely exhausting for some reason. The weather is finally supposed to clear up this weekend. We're expecting 82 and sunny tomorrow! It feels too good to be true. And honestly, I'll believe it when I see it. If the weathermen are right, we plan on spending the weekend riding bikes, taking a trip out to our wedding venue and maybe even doing a little golfing!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hello, Beautiful Kitchen

I stumbled upon this kitchen/dining area/wine bar on Habitually Chic and my frantic scrolling abruptly stopped. My eyes were glued. I had to see more. I had to see it bigger. How gorgeous is it? Sort of simple, with huge statement pieces. I think I'd like to spend every day in this room!

Dancin'!

Just adore this photo. I can't wait to see what ridiculously happy moments our wedding photographer, Jill Thomas, captures on our big day!

Holly Stalder Silk Chiffon and Lace Dress

I've had a crush on this little white dress for quite some time. I just keep coming back to it. If I didn't have the most talented fashion designer in the world (my Mama, of course!) making both my wedding dresses (ceremony and reception), I'd have to pick this one up and rock it on the dance floor.

Lantern Love

Don’t you love it when things just easily fall into place? This past weekend I fell in love with everything about the Viceroy’s décor. I especially loved these awesome wicker (or maybe bamboo) bird cage-looking lanterns hanging in the trees poolside. My bestie pointed out how it’d be awesome to have something like that hanging in the oak tree for the wedding, and I could not have agreed more.

So, I went home and started googling like a mad woman. I couldn’t find anything decent looking for under $150. Clearly that’s not in the budget. Then the serendipitous moment occurred. I was getting my daily dose of Mrs. Lilien when I saw these absolutely perfect lanters from Z Gallerie, on sale for just $9.99! Done and done! How beautiful are these going to look with a candle in them when the sun goes down? I'm in love.

Two Months!!!

With just two months to go I am anxious to see how all the details of our big day will come together. I'm feeling extremely comforted by the words of fellow Portland blogger, Kae, of Paper Morning

"As much as I loved my wedding, I am sooooo glad it's behind me. Marriage is so much more joyous than a wedding ever could be."

I can't wait for August 7th to commit my love to Corey, but I'm even more excited for the days, months and years that will follow.

{Bachelorette} Weekend Recap

I'm back from one of the best weekends ever! Palm Springs was such a blast. The Viceroy is absolutely stunning. And my sisters and friends are the best in the world! We spent the weekend lounging by the pool, eating lots of yummy food, chatting and catching up and of course, going out on the town. All the girls banded together and even got me a massage at the Viceroy's awesome spa. It was incredible!

The weekend was so much fun, but needless to say I'm super exhausted today. If given the chance, I'm confident I could sleep the entire day! But alas, I have work to do.

Here are some pictures from the weekend. I didn't have my point-and-shoot so these are more scenic photos taken with my DSLR. I'll try to post some of the fun night out pictures later.
